Craver Electric is a residential electrical company built around a simple idea: the person who quotes your job should be the person who does it, and you should be able to reach him.
What we do
Residential work in Raleigh and the rest of Wake County. Service and repair, panel upgrades and rewiring, EV charger circuits and standby generators. We do not chase commercial jobs or new construction; houses are the whole business, and the guides on this site are written about the houses that are actually here, from the 1950s ranches inside the Beltline to the subdivisions going up in Wake Forest and Apex.
How we run a job
You get a written price before the work starts. For a repair that means a diagnostic visit with the fee stated up front and applied to the fix. For a panel, a charger, a generator or a rewire it means a quote that lists what is included, and the permit is always on that list. Panels, new 240 volt circuits and transfer switches all get permitted and inspected with the city, town or county that has jurisdiction, and we coordinate with your electric utility when the meter has to come off.
When we leave, the breakers are labeled, the questions are answered, and you have the paperwork.
Why the company exists
Before the trade, Curran built and ran a marketing company that works with electricians, HVAC contractors and other home service businesses. That meant reading a lot of customer reviews of electricians. The complaints were rarely about the wiring. They were about not answering the phone, not explaining the price, and not showing up when they said they would. Craver Electric was started to be the company those reviews were asking for.
Service area: Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Knightdale, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Wendell, Zebulon, Morrisville and Clayton. If you are near the county line, ask; we usually say yes.
